We get health insurance for our protection but it is not a bottomless bucket. When checking into Baltimore health insurance quotes you want to find out how deep that bucket is – meaning to what extent are your medical expenses going to be paid. 

Policies have what is called maximum lifetime benefit, which is the most that your policy will pay for your medical expenses during your lifetime.  If you have a million dollar policy, should you ever reach that limit, during your life, the insurance company stops paying.

There was a time when a million dollars was a lot of money, and it still is, if you are not buying real estate or paying hospital bills.  

This is not the same as a maximum dollar limit.  Maximum dollar limit refers to a set amount that your insurance provider will pay for your health care expenses during a benefit period. 

An example might be if you have optical or dental coverage and the limit for either of these is $1,000.00 when the total of your medical expenses reach that amount any further medical expenses come out of your pocket.  When the next benefit period begins the amount of the maximum dollar amount begins anew, and it starts coming out of the insurance company's pocket.

When checking into Baltimore health insurance quotes you want to understand clearly what these insurance quotes cover, for both the maximum lifetime benefit and the maximum dollar limit. 

They sound similar, but they sure have different meanings.
