Insurance – Types
Many companies offer several different types of insurance with varying coverage and cost. Here is a list of some basic kinds of insurance, and just a brief overview of what they can offer.
Car insurance - This is just what it means, insurance on a car. The basic policies are: full coverage, comprehensive, and liability. Most states require you to carry, at a minimum, liability insurance. Car insurance also provides a certain amount of medical coverage. Like many other things, the more insurance coverage wanted or needed the more it will cost.
Health insurance - Health insurance offers protection for you and/or your family. Health insurance can help pay medical bills if a person gets sick or is injured. Health insurance is a major concern to many people today because of the rising cost of health care.
Home insurance - This insurance gives you protection in the event of damage to your home or if someone is injured on your property. Home insurance can help you rebuild or repair your home if it is damaged or if someone gets hurt at your home and needs medical attention home insurance offers coverage for that.
Life insurance - Life insurance offers protection in the event of the policyholder losing their life. Since the cost of living is expensive, life insurance can provide for loved ones when you cannot. Certain life insurance policies also build equity.
Renters insurance - Renters insurance can help you replace or repair your possessions in the event they are damaged or destroyed. It will also provide medical coverage if anyone is injured at the home you rent. Many ask if renters insurance is worth it, but stop and consider the replacement value of the things you own.
