If you have children, the need for medical insurance is more obvious than ever.  As a parent if you get sick or have pains, what do you do?  You get up, cook meals, go to work, and a myriad of other things, because that is your job. Right? 

But if your little one starts crying in the middle of the night, or you feel a forehead and it feels like fire or they start throwing up – it is a whole new ball game.  And how often this happens!  Tomorrow they may be fine, but when they can't tell us exactly what is wrong we have the tendency to think about a trip to the doctor. 

Now add to this the falls and spills and cuts and breaks that some of our little ones seem prone to (and that seem to require emergency room visits), and it is easy to see why medical insurance is a family necessity.  One emergency room trip out of your pocket can sure make a believer of you! 

On top of this let's not forget the other childhood diseases like chicken pox.  There are vaccinations available, but without medical insurance, there is tendency to let these slide and this can lead to more expensive health problems in the future. 

As expensive as medical insurance might be, life can be much more expensive, and risky without it.
