What Medical Insurance Example Are You Setting For Your Kids?

Are you setting a good example for your children?

Yes, not overdrinking, not smoking and not abusing drugs are good indicators of this.  But, how about the example of having medical insurance?  New thought?  Think about it.

If you protect your family you start a mentality that carries over to your offspring (and to theirs).  There is a tendency for parents who waste money and shirk responsibility to raise children that do the same.  That was the example set for them.

On the other hand, parents who accept responsibility and plan for the future often have mature young ones that do the same.  Doesn't it seem likely that this could spill over to the area of medical insurance (as well as car insurance and other forms)?

This does not mean that we need to double cover ourselves with every form of insurance available.  Not even the most expensive.  Actually it can be quite an education for children to see how parents shop for affordable medical insurance.

As parents we never know what is just around the corner.  Sometimes it's great.  Enjoy it when it is.  But sometimes it is an illness or medical situation.  Medical insurance allows us to focus on the care of the family member rather than on where the money is going to come from due to having no medical insurance.

Without the protection of medical insurance, we can jeopardize our health and the health of our family, which is hardly fair.  Instead, why not be safe.  Be healthy.  Be smart.
