Where Is Medical Insurance Heading?
Fewer things have caused more concern in the last 50 years than the soaring costs of medical insurance. It's been said that religion and politics are two subjects to stay away from in mixed company. From a politicians standpoint one may well add the subject of medical insurance.
There are many strong feelings on it, many would like to see something done about it, but the bottom line is you still need it fro yourself and family. If you are without medical insurance and any one of a thousand things go wrong you can really do yourself financial harm.
Yes it is expensive. It is hard to find cheap medical insurance today, but one emergency can wipe you out if you are not insured. Then, you will wish you had made certain that you were insured, even if you had to forego other things that you wanted.
If it makes you feel any better (and it may not at present) there may be a certain tax advantage to having medical insurance. You can, at least under certain circumstances, write off some of your medical insurance premiums and a percent of any health care costs on your taxes.
Whether or not this saves you much, in this day and age, if you are not covered by some health care provision you need the protection of a personal medical insurance policy.
