RV Insurance – Extra Options
When getting RV insurance quotes look below the surface.
There are many more options to consider than Collision – Comprehensive - Property Damage Liability - Bodily Injury Liability.
Roadside Assistance – This can be quite attractive if you overheat, run out of gas, have a flat, or just won’t start – and you are vacationing. When checking into this coverage look closely at any limits placed on the policy. If you travel 24-7, and you vacation from the east coast to the west and from Canada to the Louisiana bayou, you do not want to hear “sorry” if you suddenly need roadside assistance. The unexpected does not always happen, but it does often (and mostly when we do not expect it).
Emergency Expenses – If your RV suddenly gets an attitude on the road you do not have to get one also – if you have this coverage. It cares for your living expenses, including transportation while your RV is being repaired.
There are often limits on what expenses are covered and for what limits, so read any limits carefully on the insurance policy.
Replacement Cost Personal Effects – Covers your personal possessions should they be stolen, damaged, or even lost while traveling. Typically there is a set limit on the amount of the coverage. The premium for such coverage has to be factored in after looking around your RV and seeing what you have with you when you travel, as well as where you will be. Water damage, smoke damage, or the theft of a laptop is hard to take when away from home, but being insured helps.
